Built from Wood, Driven by Trust — Since 1980
American Box & Crating was founded in 1980 with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide North Central Texas businesses with high-quality crating and packing solutions that are both dependable and affordable. What began as a small family-operated venture has grown into one of the most respected names in custom crating throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area — not because we followed trends, but because we followed our values.
Our story
For over four decades, we’ve proudly partnered with manufacturers, aerospace engineers, technology companies, art galleries, and more — ensuring their products, equipment, and priceless assets are packaged with precision and care. Our founder believed every business deserves protection they can count on without inflated prices or impersonal service. That vision still guides everything we do.

IPPC Wood Treatment

What It Is
The use of unprocessed wood can spread pests by introducing non-native species into the environment.
The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) is an international plant health agreement, established in 1952, that aims to protect cultivated and wild plants by preventing the introduction and spread of pests. Many countries, including China and Mexico as well as the European Union, require compliance with the IPPC's ISPM 15 standard before a container can be imported.

How It Works
The wood we use has been processed to help prevent the spread of pests according to the ISPM 15 standard. To qualify for certification, the wood's core must be heated to a temperature of 132.8 degrees for 30 minutes, 140 degrees for 60 seconds or fumigated. We also maintain required documentation to show the origin of the wood and certify its compliance. The wood can then be stamped with a Heat Treatment mark like the one above.

ABC Crating LLC is a member in good standing with the Timber Products Inspection Heat Treatment Program, accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee, and is in compliance with the ISPM 15 standard.
